Studio 11 designed a start-up office in Minsk

Colorful, modern and innovative - this is how Appodeal's headquarters in Minsk presents itself. The interior design of the 1,000-square-meter office space in a free-standing, five-story building was handled by the local Studio 11, which specializes in contemporary office fit-outs for start-ups and young companies in the up-and-coming metropolis.

On the first floor of the new Appodeal location, a massive counter welcomes visitors. Despite its granite look, it appears almost floating - thanks to the strip of light on the floor. Behind it, the logo shines in neon tubes with retro charm on dark blue tiles. Anyone wanting to find their way around the predominantly white office simply follows the pictograms on the floor. They guide you through the snail shell-like floor plan - past the reception, the large communal kitchen, administration and meeting rooms - and, together with labels, create a graphic navigation system.

Consistent curves
This layout makes efficient use of space, but it also means that the interior rooms get little daylight. They are therefore mainly used for meetings. The work areas, on the other hand, are located directly under the windows and are characterized by an open spatial concept. To prevent them from appearing too huge on the upper floors, they are each divided by a functional zone with a shared tea kitchen, WCs, lounge zone and meeting room. Appodeal takes care of the well-being of the employees in a massage room as well as common rooms in the basement, where there is also the table tennis table that is obligatory for start-ups. At the very top, on the roof terrace, they can enjoy the view over the city. A bar and flexible furniture invite you to relax.

Colored volumes
Colors serve as orientation throughout the project. They delineate the floors and areas of use from one another. The spectrum ranges from light yellow to fire-engine red to a bright turquoise. The designers from Studio 11 skilfully draw attention to colored volumes. Sometimes they appear in the form of a seating bunk embedded in the wall. Sometimes an archway delimits a new room. Then again, a mosaic-tiled wall reshapes an informal meeting area that can additionally be separated from the rest of the office with a curtain. The predominantly round or oval shapes are underscored by lines on the floor.

Mysterious lighting
For the lighting, Studio 11 thought of a special solution: It illuminated transparent glass blocks with color gradients. These radiant cubes give the building a special atmosphere that is also visible from the outside. The colored lighting makes it stand out from the streetscape in the center of Minsk.
Studio 11 succeeded in creating a precisely fitting office fit-out for Appodeal with its colorful and graphically sophisticated concept. The design reflects the modern working atmosphere, which is characterized by the flat hierarchies of an international tech company.
